Day 1:

Arrival to the High Tatras

Arrival to the High Tatras. Meet our local representative for a short welcome briefing with maps and practical information for your self-guided hikes.

Day 2:

Between the High Tatras and White Tatras

“Warm up” hiking through the alpine meadows under the scenic and expressively carved peaks of the White Tatras to the mountain hut by the Green lake (1.551 m) – located under the tallest (900 m) rock climbing wall in the High Tatras.

Summary: 6,5 hours of hiking, 18 km, ↗ 800 m, ↘ 890 m, highest point 1.750 m

Day 3:

Hiking to Tery hut – a traditional mountain hut in the High Tatras

Hiking in the central part of the Tatras. Ascent to the Tery hut (2.015 m) – one of the oldest (built in 1899) and the highest located mountain hut open all year round.

Summary: 5,5 hours of hiking, 14 km, ↗ 870 m, ↘ 870 m, highest point 2.015 m

Day 4:

In the shade of the highest peak of the Carpathians

Hiking in the shade of Gerlach peak (2.655 m) – the highest peak of the High Tatras, Slovakia & Carpathians. Opportunity to ascent Vychodna Vysoka peak (2.429 m) – great viewpoint – neighbor of Gerlach peak (2.655 m).

Summary: 6-8 hours of hiking, 11-18 km, ↗ 1.319 m, ↘ 1.599 m, highest point 2.429 m

Day 5:

The highest peak of Poland – Rysy

Hiking in the western part of the High Tatras. Start in the wide open Mengusovska valley, climb over a rock terrace secured by chains, along the highest located Tatra mountain hut (2.250 m) up to Rysy peak (2.499 m) – great view of both sides of Tatras (Polish and Slovak one).

Summary: 8 hours of hiking, 19 km, ↗ 1.371 m, ↘1.371 m, highest point 2.499 m

Day 6:

Bystrá lávka Pass – a loop hike full of mountain lakes

Two iconic High Tatras valleys – Mlynická and Furkotská – in a rewarding loop starting and ending at Štrbské pleso (1,325 m). The route leads past the impressive Waterfall Skok (1,760 m) and through a chain of alpine lakes up to Bystrá lávka Pass (2,314 m). You then descend through the quiet Furkotská valley back toward Štrbské pleso.

Summary: 6,5 hours of hiking, 16,5 km, ↗ 1.074 m, ↘1.074 m, highest point 2.314 m

Day 7:

Departure

The tour ends after breakfast with your departure for Poprad or Krakow. During the transfer to Krakow you can enjoy a panoramic drive around the Tatras and reflect on the highlights of your hiking week.
