Day 1:

Arrival to the High Tatras

Arrival to the High Tatras. Meet your group and guide tonight for the dinner and orientation briefing.

Day 2:

Between the High Tatras and White Tatras

“Warm up” hiking through the alpine meadows under the scenic and expressively carved peaks of the White Tatras to the mountain hut by the Green lake (1.551 m) – located under the tallest (900 m) rock climbing wall in the High Tatras.

Summary: 5 hours of hiking, 13 km, ↗780 m, ↘ 235 m, highest point 1.750 m

Day 3:

Around the second highest peak of the High Tatras

Morning climb of the Marmot peak (2.037 m) – great view of the White Tatras. Hiking below the second highest peak – Lomnicky peak (2.633 m) – to mountain hut “Zamkovskeho chata”.

Summary: 4 hours of hiking, 10 km, ↗615 m, ↘ 705 m, highest point 2.023 m

Day 4:

Hiking to Tery hut – a traditional mountain hut in the High Tatras

Hiking in the central part of the Tatras. Ascent to the Tery hut (2.015 m) – one of the oldest (built in 1899) and the highest located mountain hut open all year round.

Summary: 5 hours of hiking, 12 km, ↗640 m, ↘ 825 m, highest point 2.015 m

Day 5:

Easy day - Dunajec river raft trip in Pieniny national park

Relaxing day – visit of the smallest national park Pieniny, rafting tour through the Dunajec river gorge on wooden rafts. Afternoon visit of the wooden protestant church in Kezmarok (UNESCO) – the jewel of Slovak baroque architecture.

Day 6:

Scenic Grand Traverse hike (Tatranska magistrala)

Comfortable hiking along the Grand Traverse trail called Magistrala – the longest hiking trail in the High Tatras connecting all southern valleys. Fabulous views of the highest peaks (Mt. Gerlach, 2.656 m) and several mountain lakes.

Summary: 6 hours of hiking, 15 km, ↗1.256 m, ↘ 741 m, highest point 2.045 m

Day 7:

Rysy – the highest peak of Poland

Hiking in the wide open Mengusovska valley, climb over a rock terrace secured by chains, along the highest located Tatra mountain hut (2.250 m) up to Rysy peak (2.499 m) – great view of both sides of Tatras (Polish and Slovak one).

Summary: 6 hours of hiking, 12 km, ↗1.060 m, ↘1.060 m, highest point 2.499 m

Day 8:

Departure

Our tour ends after the breakfast by descending to tram stop and departure for Poprad/Krakow. En route to Krakow review your hiking tour on panoramic drive around the Tatras.
